The weekend goes by too fast!!!! Mark got paid on Friday and gave me an allowance for the household items we need to get through another week. Our first stop was Gattiland, a splurge I know but I felt like we deserved it. Sol had a coupon for perfect attendance so he ate for Free!!!!
I also had $3.00 game plays for each of the kids and I gave them each $2.00 to add to it. Man a kid can spend money fast in a place like that. Dinner, drinks and games costed a total of $30.00 not bad for family togetherness. Our next stop was Kroger where I saved $21.08 with my Kroger card and coupons. CVS had some great deals as well. U by Kotex was on sale for $3.49 and I had a $1.00 off coupon so I paid $2.49 and got back $1.00 CVS buck so my total cost was $1.49 I also bought a Thermacare heat patch for $2.49 and got back a $2.49 in CVS bucks so that item was FREE!!!! Rite Aid had a single check rebate on U by Kotex as well the shelf price was $3.49 and I had a $1.00 off coupon so I paid $2.49 and will get back a rebate of $3.49 so it was a moneymaker item. Swagbucks also put $5.00 in my payapal over the weekend. I bought dish soap for $1.00 at Family Dollar and laundry soap for $2.00. I am learning how to work a coupon all of the time.

Happy Earth Day
Remember to recycle, reuse and reduce!!! I hope all of you are doing your part to live "green".
I am taking a few small steps and I am sure it helps.I love being "green" it's my last name after all.Not to mention that living "green" can save you money.I do what I can and I know we can all make a difference. Heres a few "green" things I have been doing:
1. I recycle almost everything ( clothes, plastic bottles and bags, aluminum cans)
2. I use energy smart lightbulbs and it has made a difference in my electric bill.
3. I use my " green" bags when shopping ( I don't always remember but I am loving my CVS green bag and green tag, they give you $1.00 for every fourth time you use it. See it really does pay to use a "green" bag.
4. I take short showers and don't let the water run any longer than it has to.
5. My son uses a lunchbox when he takes his lunch to school.Paper bags are expensive.
6. We use hand towels instead of paper towels. I can wash and reuse the handtowels.
7. I only wash full loads of laundry.
I know it's not a perfect plan, but, it's a start. I know I need to work on paper reduction(yeah that's a real problem for me) so I just wanted to remind you to do your part to let the Earth know you love and appreciate it. Have a blessed Earth Day!!!!
What's for dinner?
pizza,chip and salad

Lost and Found
I was looking for batteries for our smoke detectors this morning but of corse they are lost somewhere in this mess that I call my home. I decided to do a little decluttering and filled a garbage bag all the way to the top with trash (oh Sister Mayfield would be so proud) I am a hoarder I suppose. Hoarding is not always a bad thing. I mean my church even encourages some of it. We call it food storage and being prepared. Hoarding is ok as long as the items are of value or can be used by someone. Sadly most of my items are of no use to anyone and so I have decided it's time to part with some of them. But I did find some great samples that have been thrown into a basket and forgotten about. I dug them out and will soon organize them in my stockpiling closet. Some of these items are of no use to me but may be to someone so I hold onto them. So I wanted to share my sample list with you. I could have been saving so much money if I had organized these samples sooner.

A penny squeezing week for sure!!!!
Have you ever had one of those weeks when payday seems to be a million days away? It has been like that around here this week for sure. Mark has a new job and he gets paid every two weeks(we were used to every week)and it takes some getting used to. Thank goodness I am a coupon queen otherwise I don't know how we would have gotten through this week. Seems like I run out of things all at the same time. I was out of dish soap and laundry soap on the very same day. Note to self: time to stockpile those two items. So my shopping adventures found me at CVS and WalMart and here is what I bought:
CVS-the magic coupon printer was printing $1.00 any CVS paper product and $1.00 off any
CVS skin care product
CVS toilet tissue was on sale for 2/$1.00
CVS cocoa butter price .99 cents
I paid 0.04 cents tax on that order and used my green tag so I got a point toward my CVS bucks
WalMart-I had 3-$1.00 off coupons for ANY size Tide Detergent
I bought the trial size Tide Detergents price .97 cents so FREE
$3.00 off 5 cans Might Dog dog food price .56 cents a can so I only had to pay tax
.55 cents off Dawn Dish Soap price $1.00 so .45 cents + tax
$1.00 any Banquet Family Size Entree price $2.28 so $1.28 and I had a rebate form to try it
FREE so total for the frozen dinner FREE
I love FREE!!! Don't we all?
Funny note:I don't even have a dog but my cat ate the dog food and he didn't seem to mind at all
What's for dinner?
salisbury steak, baked beans, macaroni and tomatoes, cream style corn and biscuits
